The cluster sits in the Stura di Demonte valley in the Maritime Alps, with high alpine relief immediately around it. The Stura di Demonte river runs through the valley. Much of the upper valley falls within the Parco Naturale delle Alpi Marittime. The nearest ski area is Limone Piemonte, roughly 35-45 minutes by road depending on the exact hamlet. Cuneo is the nearest town of size, with rail connections, hospitals, secondary schools and the main services of the province. The valley is known for mountain pasture landscapes, old military roads and fortifications linked to the Colle della Maddalena route toward France. Vinadio and its Forte Albertino are nearby in the same valley.
