Un rifugio nel cuore della valle stura

The Maritime Alps are the immediate setting, with the lower Stura di Demonte valley nearby and steep wooded side valleys around the village. The Parco Naturale delle Alpi Marittime begins a short distance to the south-west around Entracque and Valdieri. The nearest ski area is Limone Piemonte, about an hour by road. Cuneo is the nearest town of size, with full services, rail connections and a substantial historic centre. This part of the province is known for alpine pasture, chestnut and beech woods, and access to hiking valleys leading toward the French border.
