The Maritime Alps surround Entracque, with high valleys and peaks including the Argentera group within the local landscape. The area lies in the Parco Naturale delle Alpi Marittime, contiguous with the Mercantour protected area across the French border. The Gesso stream runs through the valley. The nearest ski lifts are at Entracque itself for small local skiing, with the larger Limone Piemonte lifts roughly 30–40 minutes away by road. Cuneo is the nearest town of size, with full services, rail connections and a historic centre. The area is known for alpine hiking, wildlife and mountain reservoirs such as the Chiotas and della Rovina dams in the upper valley.
