The cluster lies at the foot of the Cottian Alps, with Monte Bracco and the first Alpine slopes immediately above the plain. The Po rises nearby at Pian del Re under Monviso, and Monviso is the dominant mountain in this part of the province. The lower Valle Po begins within this radius. Crissolo is the nearest ski area, with small lifts roughly 30–40 minutes away depending on the exact point. Saluzzo is the nearest substantial town, with a walled historic centre, services and rail connection toward the plain. This area is known for the Monviso massif, the source of the Po, and fruit growing on the plain at the foot of the mountains.
