The cluster is in the Ligurian Alps, with wooded slopes and higher limestone ridges around the upper Tanaro valleys. The area is associated with the ski station of Viola Saint-Gréé, with lifts on the mountain above the village when operating. Ormea is the nearest small town of size, with everyday services and a historic centre in the Tanaro valley. This part of the province is known for mountain pasture, chestnut woods and road access across the alpine valleys toward the Ligurian side.
