Location score 74/100The cluster lies at the foot of the Cottian Alps, with the Monviso group close to the west and the entrance to the upper Po valley within the local landscape. The Po rises at Pian del Re above Crissolo, and the river plain spreads east from Saluzzo into the fruit-growing countryside. The Monviso Natural Park is on the mountain side of the area. The nearest ski lifts are the small local slopes around Crissolo, roughly a 40-minute drive from Saluzzo. Saluzzo is the nearest substantial town and has a large preserved historic centre, the hilltop old town, and the Castiglia fortress. The area is known for fruit orchards on the plain and for being one of the gateways to the Monviso and upper Po valleys.
