The Bormida di Millesimo runs through this area, with wooded ridges and mixed farmland around the villages. The Ligurian Apennines are close to the south, but the higher alpine scenery of the main Cuneo ranges is much farther away. Saliceto has a medieval castle, and Millesimo nearby is one of the small historic centres of this upper Val Bormida.
