Bra sits in the Roero, a hill area of vineyards, orchards and wooded ridges on the left bank of the Tanaro. The Tanaro valley is nearby. The Langhe hills begin just to the south across the river, with Alba as the nearest larger town and its services, rail station and wine trade. This area is known for wine, especially Roero and nearby Barolo and Barbaresco zones, and for food culture linked to Bra and the Alba area.
