Bilocale in Piazza Armerina

The area sits in the inland Erei hills, with cultivated ridges, wheat fields, pasture and wooded patches around a hill town. The Gela plain lies to the south within this part of central Sicily. The nearest town of size is Enna, which has a historic hilltop centre and regional services. Piazza Armerina is known for the Roman Villa Romana del Casale, a UNESCO World Heritage site just outside the town, with extensive late Roman mosaics.
