The cluster sits in the inland Sicilian hills between the Nebrodi mountains to the north and the upper basin of the Simeto river to the south. Within this radius the landscape is mostly cereal hills, pasture and wooded slopes, with the Nebrodi range becoming the main relief a short distance north. Part of the southern edge of Parco dei Nebrodi lies within reach north of Cerami. The nearest substantial town is Nicosia, which has the usual services and a large historic hill town core. This part of inland Enna and the Nebrodi fringe is known for stock farming, grain and mountain villages.
