Via Pennesi - 5, 3, Sant'Elpidio a Mare

This is the lower Fermano countryside between the Adriatic coastal plain and the first inland hills. The Tenna valley lies just to the north and the Chienti valley to the south, with a landscape of fields, workshops and settled ridges rather than a single dominant natural feature. The nearest stretch of coast is the Adriatic shore around Porto Sant’Elpidio and Civitanova Marche. Fermo is the nearest historic town of size, with a cathedral, major piazzas and a substantial old centre on its hill. This part of the Marche is known for footwear manufacturing and for mixed agricultural land on the coastal hinterland.
