Montefalcone Appennino: vivere in una cartolina!

The Sibillini Mountains rise west of Comunanza, with Monte Vettore and the main crest of the range within the local horizon. The Aso valley runs through this area, and Lake Gerosa lies nearby in the upper valley. Much of the mountain area to the west is in the Monti Sibillini National Park. The nearest ski area is Monte Prata on the Sibillini side, roughly an hour by road depending on conditions. Ascoli Piceno is the nearest provincial town of size, with a substantial historic centre and services; Amandola is the nearer small centre for day-to-day mountain-side services. The Sibillini area is known for high Apennine pastures, limestone ridges, and lentil-growing uplands around Castelluccio farther into the range.
