Attico

The area sits between the lower Chienti and Tenna valleys, with cultivated hills running down toward the Adriatic. The nearest coast is the Adriatic shore around Civitanova Marche and Porto Sant’Elpidio, with long sandy beaches and a continuous strip of seaside development rather than a protected coastal landscape. The Sibillini Mountains are inland to the west, but outside the immediate 15 km landscape. The nearest larger towns are Civitanova Marche, with port, rail station and extensive retail areas, and Fermo, with a substantial historic centre on its hill. This part of southern Marche is known for footwear manufacturing and for mixed agricultural hills with scattered villages.
