The lower hills of the Marche rise a short distance inland, but within this radius the landscape is mainly coastal urban fabric, beach establishments and the flat coastal plain at the mouth area of the Chienti. Civitanova Marche is the nearest larger town and provides a full set of shops, services and rail links on the coast. Inland, the first historic hill towns of the Fermano are reachable in a short drive, but they sit beyond the immediate coastal setting.
