Bilocale in Ferrara

This is the lower Po plain around Ferrara, with flat agricultural land, drainage canals and branches of the Po river system, including the Po di Volano within the city and the main Po not far to the north. The Po Delta Regional Park begins within this radius to the east, with lagoon, wetland and reclaimed-land landscapes around the first delta settlements. Ferrara is itself the nearest city of size and has a large historic centre, Renaissance walls and UNESCO status as the city of the Este and as part of the Ferrara and Po Delta site. The area is known for irrigated farming and for the delta environment rather than for relief.
