Bilocale in Portomaggiore

This is the lower Po plain, with flat agricultural land and drainage canals around the settlements. The Po di Volano and the wetland areas of the Valli di Comacchio are within this part of eastern Ferrara province, and the Po Delta Regional Park begins to shape the landscape farther east. Ferrara is the nearest city of size, with a large historic centre and UNESCO status for the Este city and its Po Delta cultural landscape. The area is known for reclaimed lowland agriculture and wetlands toward the Adriatic side of the province.
