Zona diamantina

This cluster sits in the built-up area of Ferrara, so the lived setting is the flat lower Po plain with urban streets, modern outskirts and agricultural land around the city. The Po di Volano runs through Ferrara, and the Po and its branch canals shape the wider landscape of reclaimed farmland and embankments. Ferrara is the nearest town of size and has the Este Castle, the Renaissance Addizione Erculea and the cathedral area. Ferrara is on the UNESCO World Heritage list for its historic centre and its planned Renaissance expansion. The area is known for the Po plain, land reclamation and cycling routes on the embankments.
