Riva del Po: localita’ guarda

The area sits on the lower Po, with the Po river forming the main landscape feature and broad embanked farmland around it. This is part of the Polesine plain, a low alluvial landscape of canals, drainage works and cultivated fields. Adria is the nearest larger town, with everyday services and a historic center; Rovigo is the main provincial town in the wider area. The Po Delta Regional Park lies nearby to the east, but the immediate surroundings are inland river plain rather than the lagoon and coastal sections of the delta. The area is known for river landscapes, reclaimed land and agriculture tied to the Po basin.
