Trilocale in Scarperia e San Piero

The cluster lies in the Mugello, in the northern Tuscan Apennine foothills. Lake Bilancino is at Barberino itself. The Apennine ridge rises to the north, with Monte Giovi and the passes toward Emilia within the wider local area. Part of the territory is near the protected area of the Lago di Bilancino and the Sasso di Castro-Monte Beni system, and the Foreste Casentinesi park is well beyond the 15 km radius so it does not define the immediate setting. The nearest ski area is Monte Cimone in Emilia-Romagna, well over an hour away by road. Barberino has the usual services of a small town, and Borgo San Lorenzo and Florence are the main larger centres used for higher-level services and rail connections. The area is known for the Mugello landscape of wooded hills, reservoirs, scattered villas and farm country, and for road access over the Apennines.
