Asta a Marradi (FI) Viale Baccarini, 14

The cluster is in the Apennines, in the upper Lamone valley near the border between Tuscany and Romagna. The Lamone river runs through Marradi and the surrounding landscape is wooded mountain slopes, chestnut country and small valleys. The Parco nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona e Campigna begins east of here, with its forested ridges within roughly this mountain area. The nearest skiing is the small lift area around Campigna and Mount Falco, reached by a mountain drive of about an hour depending on the road. Marradi itself is a small service centre with a railway station on the Faenza-Florence line, basic shops and schools. The area is known for chestnuts, especially the Marrone di Marradi.
