The cluster is on the Florentine plain between the Arno and Bisenzio river systems, in a heavily urbanised and industrial belt west of Florence. The Bisenzio runs through the area. Monte Morello rises just to the north, but the immediate surroundings are built-up plain rather than open countryside. Florence is the nearest major city, with the full range of services, rail connections, airport access and major historic monuments. The area is known for warehouses, retail parks, road infrastructure and the wider metropolitan economy around Florence and Prato.
