The cluster is on the Gargano promontory on the Adriatic coast. The sea is the Adriatic, with a long limestone coast of cliffs, coves and beaches around Vieste, including the sea stacks and white rock shoreline south of town. Much of the surrounding interior falls within Gargano National Park. The nearest town of size is Manfredonia, while Vieste itself is a established coastal town with a historic centre and port. The area is known for the Gargano coast and for the Foresta Umbra in the inland part of the promontory. Vieste has Bandiera Blu status.
