The cluster lies on the north side of the Tavoliere plain at the foot of the Gargano promontory. The Gargano is the main landscape feature within this radius, with limestone uplands rising just east of Apricena, and the edge of Gargano National Park begins nearby around San Marco in Lamis. The Adriatic coast is close, with the stretch around Rodi Garganico and Lesina farther north outside the immediate radius. Apricena is known above all for its limestone quarries and stone production.
