SCALO DEI SARACENI - Via Dei Gerani

The cluster is in the built-up area of Manfredonia, so the immediate setting is an Adriatic coastal town rather than open countryside. It sits on the Gulf of Manfredonia on the Adriatic. The Gargano promontory rises immediately to the north, with the edge of Gargano National Park within this radius. Siponto, at the southern edge of the town, has the archaeological area of the ancient city and the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Monte Sant'Angelo is the main historic hill town nearby, with the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo, a UNESCO site, on the southern slopes of the Gargano. The area is known for the Gargano coast, pilgrimage to Monte Sant'Angelo, and the flat coastal lands of the Tavoliere meeting the limestone massif of the promontory.
