The cluster is on the Adriatic coast at the north edge of Puglia, with a flat littoral plain backed inland by cultivated low ground. The coast here is the Marina di Chieuti belt, with long sandy beaches and low dunes on the Adriatic. Lake Lesina lies within about 15 km to the south-west, a large coastal lagoon separated from the sea by a narrow strip of land. The nearest town of size is Termoli to the north, which has rail services, a port and a historic centre on the promontory.
