Quadrilocale in Manfredonia

The cluster is on the Gulf of Manfredonia on the Adriatic coast, at the foot of the Gargano promontory. The Gargano National Park begins just inland and covers the limestone uplands, forests and karst landscape behind the town. Siponto and the coastal plain lie immediately south, while the wetlands and lagoons of the Gulf side are part of the wider Gargano coastal environment. The nearest substantial upland scenery is the southern Gargano plateau above Monte Sant'Angelo, a short drive uphill from Manfredonia. Manfredonia itself is a port town with a seafront, historic centre and the Swabian-Angevin castle. Monte Sant'Angelo, within this radius, is a major sanctuary town with UNESCO status through the Longobards in Italy listing, and the Gargano area is known for pilgrimage routes, olive groves and the contrast between Adriatic coast and limestone mountain interior.
