Location score 84/100The cluster is on the Gargano promontory. The Adriatic coast is close, with the Gulf of Manfredonia below the southern side of the massif. Much of the surrounding area falls within Gargano National Park. The nearest ski lifts are at Monte Sant'Angelo on the small local slope of the Gargano heights, but this is not a major ski area. San Giovanni Rotondo is the main town nearby, with a large modern pilgrimage complex linked to Padre Pio. Monte Sant'Angelo, within the same upland area, has the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo, a UNESCO site. The area is known for the limestone uplands and forests of Gargano and for religious pilgrimage.
