This is in the built-up area of Forlì on the Romagna plain, between the lower foothills of the northern Apennines and the Adriatic side lowlands. The Montone River runs through the city. The nearest substantial landscape is in the first Apennine hills south of town around Castrocaro Terme, Predappio and Rocca delle Caminate, roughly 10 to 15 km away. Forlì itself is the nearest town of size and has the full services of a provincial capital, including major shopping, rail connections, hospitals and a large historic centre with piazzas and churches.
