The area sits in the first Apennine hills of the Savio valley. The Savio river runs through the area toward Cesena. Within this radius the landscape is mainly wooded slopes, fields and scattered hamlets, with the denser services concentrated toward Cesena, which has a full range of shops, schools, rail links and hospitals. The wider area is known for hill farming and for the route inland from Romagna toward the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines.
