Trilocale in Sogliano al Rubicone

The cluster is in the first inland hills between the Romagna plain and the Apennines, in a landscape of ridges, small valleys, fields, woodland patches and dispersed hamlets. The Rubicone valley is part of the local geography. Toward the west and southwest the Apennine relief rises within the wider Forlì-Cesena hinterland, but the immediate setting is hilly agricultural country rather than high mountain terrain. The nearest larger centres for daily services are Cesena and, in the other direction, the Rimini side of the plain. Sogliano al Rubicone is known for formaggio di fossa, the pit-aged cheese tradition associated with these hills.
