The cluster is in the Sacco valley with the Ernici mountains close to the north and east. The Sacco river runs through the area. Within about 15 km are the hill towns of Veroli, Alatri and Ferentino, each with substantial historic centres; Alatri is known for its cyclopean polygonal walls and acropolis, and Ferentino also preserves major stretches of polygonal walls. Frosinone is the nearest town of size and has the full set of provincial services, shops and rail connections on the Rome-Cassino line. This part of Ciociaria is known for olive groves, hill towns and a mixed valley-and-foothill landscape.
