The area is known for terraced vineyards and Chambave wine production on the sunnier slopes above the valley floor. Saint-Vincent and Châtillon are the nearest larger centres in the valley and provide daily services, shops and rail access. The medieval castle of Fénis is within this part of the valley. Ski lifts are not in the immediate 15 km landscape, though the resort valleys of Torgnon and Valtournenche are reached by road farther away.
