RHEMES-SAINT-GEORGES Località Proussaz

The area sits in the side valleys below the Graian Alps, with high relief close by and the entrance to the Val di Rhêmes leading toward the Gran Paradiso massif. The Dora Baltea valley is the main river corridor nearby. Gran Paradiso National Park begins farther up the Rhêmes valley, with alpine terrain and wildlife areas within the local mountain system though not at the village itself. The nearest ski area is around Rhemes-Notre-Dame and the small local lifts farther up the valley, with larger Aosta Valley domains reached by road in under an hour depending on destination. Aosta is the nearest town of size, with the full range of services and major Roman monuments including the Arch of Augustus, city walls and theatre. This part of Valle d'Aosta is known for alpine valleys, pasture landscapes and access to mountaineering and hiking terrain.
