Aosta is the nearest town of size, with full services and major Roman monuments, and Châtillon is the immediate service centre in the same valley. The area is known for its alpine valley setting and for being close to the side valleys leading toward Valtournenche, Ayas and the Monte Rosa and Matterhorn sectors.
