Location score 78/100The cluster sits in the main Aosta Valley under the Graian Alps, with high alpine slopes rising directly above the Dora Baltea. The Gran Paradiso National Park begins nearby to the south-west, and Cogne and the upper Gran Paradiso valleys are accessed from the area. Pila, the nearest major ski area, is reached from Aosta in about 20–30 minutes by cable car or road approach, and other Valley ski domains are spread along the Dora Baltea corridor. Aosta is the nearest town of size and has the region’s main services together with substantial Roman remains and the medieval centre. The area is known for its castle country, vineyards on the valley sides, and as one of the main access points from the central valley into the Gran Paradiso side valleys.
