The Chiusella stream and the Dora Baltea valley are nearby, and Mont Avic Natural Park begins a short distance to the east with high pastures, lakes and larch forests inside the park. The nearest substantial town is Pont-Saint-Martin, which has everyday services and the Roman bridge, and Ivrea is the nearest larger town beyond the regional boundary. The area is known for narrow stone villages and hamlets on the mountain sides, chestnut woods in the lower elevations, and hiking routes into the park and toward the Champorcher valley. The nearest ski area is Champorcher, roughly half an hour by road.
