Terratetto in pietra a Poppi

The cluster is in the Casentino valley, with the Pratomagno ridge to the west and the first Apennine reliefs rising to the east. The Arno runs through the valley floor nearby. The Casentino Forests National Park lies within this part of the valley, around the upper slopes and forests toward Poppi, Bibbiena and Camaldoli. The nearest town of size is Bibbiena, which has services, shops and a rail connection along the Casentino line; Arezzo is the larger city used for higher-order services. Poppi, within the same valley, is known for its castle and is listed among I Borghi più belli d'Italia. The area is known for forested uplands, chestnut country, Romanesque parish churches and the Casentino landscape linked to the upper Arno.
