Much of the surrounding territory falls within the Monti Sibillini National Park and the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park system nearby, with the Laga mountains immediately associated with Acquasanta Terme. The nearest ski area is Monte Piselli above Ascoli Piceno, roughly an hour by road, with larger lifts farther away on the Sibillini side. Ascoli Piceno is the nearest town of size, with a substantial historic centre and services. The area is known for wooded mountain slopes, deep valleys, stone hamlets and the thermal springs from which Acquasanta Terme takes its name.
