Monte Ascensione is nearby and the Sibillini range rises to the west within this radius. Much of the mountain area west of here falls in the Monti Sibillini National Park. The nearest larger town is Ascoli Piceno, with a substantial historic centre and services. This part of southern Marche is known for hill villages, mixed farming, vineyards and olive groves, with stronger mountain scenery as you move up toward the Sibillini.
