The cluster is in the Irpinian interior at the foot of the Picentini mountains. The Partenio range is close to the west and the Monti Picentini Regional Park lies nearby to the east and southeast. The Sabato valley runs through this area. Montevergine above Mercogliano is the nearest mountain destination, with road access in about 20 minutes and seasonal winter facilities there. Avellino is the nearest town of size and has the province’s main services, shops and transport links. The wider area is known for hazelnuts, chestnuts and Irpinia wines such as Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo.
