Location score 60/100Bisaccia stands on the eastern Irpinia uplands near the Apennine divide, with open agricultural hills and wind-farm ridges typical of the border country between Campania, Basilicata and Puglia. The Ofanto valley lies nearby, and Lago di Conza is within this wider upland area. The area is close to the Monti Dauni and not far from the upper Sele and Irpinia mountains, but the immediate landscape is mainly inland hill country rather than a single dominant massif. Lioni and Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi are the nearest larger centres for everyday services, while Avellino is much farther west. Bisaccia is known for its hilltop historic centre and ducal castle, and this part of Irpinia is known for cereals, sheep-grazing country and strong inland winds.
