The nearest skiing is at Monesi di Triora, roughly a 30 minute drive in normal conditions, with small alpine ski facilities when operating. Taggia and Arma di Taggia are the nearest larger service centres down the valley, with rail access, supermarkets and other everyday services, and Sanremo is the nearest substantial town on the coast. Triora, a short drive up-valley, is one of the Borghi più belli d'Italia. This inland part of western Liguria is known for olive cultivation, mountain villages and historic links between the coast and the alpine passes.
