Location score 61/100The cluster sits in the inland valleys behind the eastern Ligurian coast, in the Apennine relief between the Val di Vara and the ridge country that leads toward the Cinque Terre. The Vara river valley is the main landscape feature in this part of the province. The Montemarcello-Magra-Vara Regional Park lies downstream toward the lower Vara and Magra. Levanto is the nearest coastal town of size, and La Spezia is the main city in the province with rail links, port services and full urban amenities. The Cinque Terre are on the same side of Liguria but outside the 15 km landscape around Sesta Godano. This part of the Vara valley is known for wooded hills, scattered hamlets and small-scale farming.
