Rustico in San Severino Marche

The area sits in the upper Potenza valley with cultivated hills and the first rises of the central Apennines nearby. The Potenza river runs through San Severino Marche. To the west, within this radius, the landscape begins to rise toward the Monti Sibillini sector of the Apennines, though the main high massif and the national park are farther away. San Severino Marche itself is a substantial historic hill town with a long arcaded piazza, civic buildings and a visible medieval upper town. The wider area is known for mixed farming, hill villages and the transition from inland Marche hills to the Apennine foothills.
