Villa a schiera in Sant'Urbano

This is the southern Padovano plain near the Adige, in a flat agricultural landscape of fields, drainage canals and scattered villages. The Colli Euganei rise to the north at roughly 15 km and are the nearest distinct relief; they form a regional park with volcanic hills, woods, vineyards and spa towns around the margins. Monselice is the nearest larger town in the area, with a walled hill, a castle complex and rail links; Este is also nearby and has a historic centre and the Carraresi castle. The area is known for irrigated agriculture on the plain, with the Euganean hills marking the main landscape feature of daily life nearby.
