Fornovo taro, terra-tetto

The cluster is in the Taro valley at the point where the plain gives way to the northern Apennines. The Taro River runs through the area. Within this radius the landscape is a mix of valley floor, wooded slopes and cultivated hills rather than a single protected or monumental setting. The nearest larger city is Parma, which provides full services, rail links and major cultural amenities. The area is known for the Via Francigena crossing the Taro valley and for food production linked to the Parma hills and valleys.
