Scicli itself has a large Baroque historic centre and is part of the Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto UNESCO site. Modica, another substantial town with a major historic centre and services, is nearby. The area is known for Val di Noto Baroque architecture, dry-stone walls, carob and olive countryside, and for Montalbano filming locations.
