The area sits on the limestone tableland of the Logudoro and Coros, with low karst hills, cultivated fields and olive groves. The nearest large town is Sassari, which provides the full range of services, rail connections and a university. Within this part of north-west Sardinia the landscape is known for nuraghi and Romanesque countryside churches; the basilica of Saccargia lies in the wider area east of Ossi. Alghero airport is within practical driving range, but it does not affect the landscape score.
