Savona is the nearest town of size, with port functions, services, rail links and a historic centre around the Priamar fortress. Vado Ligure adds a commercial and industrial port on the nearby coast. The area is known locally for olive groves on the lower slopes and for the mixed coastal-hill setting typical of western Liguria.
