It is in and beside Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Natural Park. San Martino di Castrozza is itself one of the established Dolomite ski resorts, with lifts starting from the settlement and the Passo Rolle ski area about 15 minutes away by road. Fiera di Primiero is the main service centre nearby, with everyday shops and services for the valley. The Dolomites are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and San Martino di Castrozza is a long-standing mountain tourism centre known for alpine walking, climbing and winter sports.
